The Land and Science service was developed by Meristem Information Resources Ltd, a Calgary, Alberta-based independent information company focused on fresh, creative solutions in communications.

Meristem was started in 1992 to provide a new path for trustworthy information in the areas of agriculture, food and the environment. Meristem staff draw on backgrounds in strategic communications, journalism and education.
