Canadian Bio-Systems expands manufacturing base with Eastern Canadian acquisition

Canadian Bio-Systems Inc. (CBS Inc.), a leading manufacturer of natural livestock feed supplements and other products, has purchased Oshawa Specialty Products, a major Eastern Canada based supplier of registered feed products.

The acquisition solidifies CBS Inc.'s manufacturing and distribution capacity while adding key technologies to the company's portfolio, says Owen Jones, President of CBS Inc.

"This is another important step in our continued growth that will benefit all CBS Inc. customers," says Jones. "It enhances our capacity and services across the board and brings added presence to support our customer base in Eastern Canada and the North Eastern United States."

With headquarters in Calgary, Alta., CBS Inc. manufactures a wide range of products utilized in feed, food, industrial and environmental applications. Oshawa, Ont.-based Oshawa Specialty Products has operated for over 25 years manufacturing yeast products, flavors and other supplements.

In addition to boosting CBS Inc.'s gross manufacturing capacity, the acquisition brings added fermentation capability, an essential component of this type of processing. Additional key technologies acquired will strengthen the company's growing environmental service segment, says Jones. "The purchase instantly broadens our ability to service this fast expanding market."
