Animal Health & Welfare: The Next Evolution
Alberta Farm Animal Care (AFAC) is partnering with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association to host the 2014 Annual Livestock Care Conference (LCC), held March 26th and 27th in Edmonton, Alberta. (See agenda and registration information here.)
"This conference provides an opportunity for researchers, industry, students, government and the public to address challenges and trends in animal care," says Lorna Baird, AFAC Executive Director. "We are looking forward to a strong lineup of speakers, lots of good discussion and some interactive sessions. We encourage those interested to register early to reserve their place."
Tackling issues while keeping 'reality' in perspective
Leading up to the 2014 LCC, NewStream Farm Animal Care will be featuring information on the agenda and speakers. First up in this edition is Dr. Tim Blackwell, lead veterinarian in disease prevention with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Development.
Dr. Blackwell will deliver a featured presentation on "Animal Health & Welfare: The Next Evolution" that will offer information and perspective on the key issues and trends facing livestock producers and their industries, as well as insights on new approaches to tackle the emerging challenges.
Blackwell brings a rich background of education and experience to the farm animal care discussion while also keeping 'reality' in perspective and addressing the very real issues surrounding animal welfare and the animal rights movement. Learn more here.
